The Kangaroo hats are ideal for travelling as they are made from one of the lightest and strongest leathers in the world and they fold down into a calico bag.

The Sundowner Kangaroo leather is made from extremely soft, pliable and lightweight kangaroo leather - the toughest leather in the world pound for pound and the reason it is used in motorcycle clothing. They are ideal for travelling as they are lightweight and they fold down flat  into the free calico travel bag provided.

The hats come up on the small side and we encourage people to wear a hat as loose as they can possibly get away with without the hat falling off your head. To get a good fit, measure the circumference of your head, one inch above your eyebrows, in a comfortable fit (i.e. not too loose and not too tight - as you would like the hat to feel on your head) and then select a size. If you fall in between sizes we recommend to go for the size up, so for example a 58cm head measurement, we would suggest a Large 59cm hat.

Made in Australia using Australian kangaroo leather. All kangaroo hides are obtained under the Australian Federal Government's Wildlife Protection Act.

Marks and scratches on our leather hats are considered a natural feature as they are made with naturally scarred leather from free-roaming cattle or wild kangaroos.

To get the most out of your Barmah hat, we recommend using our specially formulated "Barmah Hat Waterproofing Spray". As the name suggests, the spray helps to repel water away from the leather, therefore helping to keep you dry. The spray also works as a leather conditioner so will help keep the leather soft and supple. Never use a heat source to dry your leather products as this can lead to cracking and drying.
